Turn to this cozy, asymmetrical cowl on cool, crisp days. Knit it in just a few hours using chunky yarn and big needles, and make a striking statement with a large button closure.
Finished measurements: 30″ at widest point, 15″ from edge to tip of triangle
Materials:
- Super-bulky weight yarn, 55 yards (50 m) in gold
- Size 19 (15 mm) knitting needles
- Blunt-end yarn needle
- 1″-diameter button

Gauge
5 sts = 4″ in stockinette st. Take time to check your gauge.
Special Stitches
M1R: Lift bar between sts from back and place on needle. Knit new st through the front loop. This should twist the st and make it invisible.
M1L: Lift bar between stitches from front and place on needle. Knit new st through back loop to twist it.
Pattern:
Cast on 5 sts. Knit first row. Place marker on center st.
Row 1: K 2, knit until marked st, yo, k marked st, yo, k until end.
Row 2: K 2, purl until 2nd st from end, k 2.
Row 3: K 2, M1R, knit until 2nd st from end, M1L, k2.
Row 4: K 2, purl until 2nd st from end, k 2.
Knit until about 4 or 5 yards remain. Bind off. Weave in ends. Sew button to purl side, approximately 3″ from top of widest part of triangle and 1″ from edge.
